Three Savoury Yoghurts

 

Try these three savoury yoghurt recipes when you’re looking for a fresh and nourishing pregnancy snack. Rich in calcium and protein, these yoghurt bowls are also a good source of other essential pregnancy nutrients.

Greek Salad Yoghurt Bowl

| Serves 1 |

Ingredients

150g Greek yoghurt

4 cherry tomatoes

½ small cucumber, diced

4 pitted Kalamata olives, halved

½ tbsp red onion, sliced

2 tbsp pine nuts, lightly toasted

small handful of basil leaves and/or mint leaves

2 tbsp olive oil

1 tbsp lemon juice

salt and pepper to taste

Method

Add the yoghurt to a bowl and top with the tomatoes, cucumber, olives, onion, herbs and pine nuts. Add a drizzle of olive oil and lemon juice. Season to taste and enjoy.

Pear and Walnut Yoghurt Bowl

| Serves 1 |

Ingredients

150g Greek yoghurt

½ celery stalk, finely chopped

40g vintage cheddar, crumbled

1 tbsp walnuts, chopped and toasted

¼ pear, thinly sliced

salt and pepper to taste

Method

Add the yoghurt to a bowl and top with the remaining ingredients. Season with salt and pepper.

Bacon, Avo and Tomato Yoghurt Bowl

| Serves 1 |

Ingredients

150g Greek yoghurt

small handful of watercress, rocket, basil or baby spinach leaves

½ avocado, sliced

4 cherry tomatoes

1 rasher bacon, chopped and fried

1 tbsp olive oil

salt and pepper to taste

Method

While you cook the bacon, add the yoghurt to a bowl. Top with the green leaves, avocado, tomatoes and olive oil. Season to taste and then sprinkle over the bacon pieces.
