Week 26: Your baby’s hearing has fully developed

Did you hear? This week your baby's hearing fully develops. Time to start speaking to your ever growing belly. Your baby will respond to stimulus from the real world, so dance, sing, talk lovingly to your partner, yourself and your bump. These happy activities and messages will make your baby feel safe and help you bond with your unborn child.

Essential Nutrients this Week: Fibre, Vitamin A, Essential fatty acids, Vitamin C, Zinc

Food of the Week: Apples

‘An apple a day keeps the doctor away.’ Apples are cheap, low GI, full of fibre and can be enjoyed as a snack, added to your bowl of muesli, and even mixed into salads. Buy spray-free or organic apples and remember to leave the skin on as that’s where the majority of the fibre and vitamins reside. A large apple with the skin has 5.4g of fibre, 30g of healthy carbs, 240g of potassium, 7mcg of vitamin A, 10.3mg of vitamin C, and nearly 5mcg of vitamin K1.
